The VOX AC-50 is a vintage amplifier head celebrated for its rich, warm tone and robust output. Designed as a higher-powered sibling to the iconic AC-30, the AC-50 delivers clean, dynamic sound, making it ideal for larger venues and stage performances. Featuring a classic British valve-driven design, the amp provides sparkling cleans, smooth midrange response, and a natural overdrive when pushed. Its straightforward control layout and rugged construction embody Vox's renowned craftsmanship, making it a sought-after piece for collectors and musicians alike.
It is hard to pinpoint the exact year of manufacture. The customer purchased it in 1982 and believed it to have been built in 1981. Made in England during the Rose Morris era, this amplifier has only ever been used at home, never for live performances, and remains in virtually mint condition—a rare find for a piece over 40 years old.
It was recently serviced, with $300 spent on maintenance, including replacing three capacitors.
